A technological intervention at the main headquarters of Banca del Fucino in Rome transformed into the construction of a significant project for the preservation of the artistic and monumental heritage of the historic building. We embraced Banca del Fucino’s request for technological innovation and modernization of corporate communication systems to set up meeting rooms that prioritized communication functionality among people, together with our partner Pick-Up, a system integrator from Palermo.
In just under a century of history, Banca del Fucino, founded in 1923, has established itself as one of the most important banking institutions in Rome, maintaining its identity as a local bank and its independence from the major banking groups that have incorporated the other main banks of the Capital in recent decades.
Banca del Fucino controls Igea Digital Bank, among the first Italian banks specialized in lending to small and medium-sized enterprises and professionals through a digital platform, Fucino Finance, a financial intermediary specialized in employment credits, and Fucino Green, a non-financial company specialized in investments in the renewable energy sector.
A banking institution, therefore, that has always shown great sensitivity toward technological innovation and digitalization processes.
The headquarters on Via Tomacelli and San Lorenzo in Lucina—the latter being the Health & Pharma division—are historic buildings in the heart of Rome with complex infrastructural constraints that impose significant limitations on renovation and technological modernization projects.
The starting point of our engagement with Banca del Fucino, thanks to our Palermo-based partner Pick-Up, was the need to upgrade the now-obsolete audio-video systems in the large conference room and to integrate multichannel communication platforms to improve the quality and reliability of virtual communications. The objective was to ensure an optimal experience for meeting participants and effective, productive discussions.
“In this project—Eng. Dario Di Palermo, IT Manager, tells us—the initial difficulties encountered during the renovation were related precisely to the location of the meeting room at the main headquarters on Via Tomacelli: being inside a historic building entails significant architectural constraints. This was a concern for us; to overcome it, we spent considerable time searching for the company to entrust with the renovation work of our meeting room, both in technological and functional terms. From the initial site inspection—continues Eng. Di Palermo—we were able to observe the professionalism and established know-how of AGMultivision and Pick-Up in finding winning solutions that preserved the building’s architecture without compromising the cutting-edge technology we needed.”
Among the project’s challenges, for example, were the room’s walls covered with fine fabric and their preservation. After several site inspections and the study of possibilities shared with the working group, all necessary cables were run between the fabric and the walls with zero impact on the structure and an invisible effect for those entering the room: a non-invasive solution of great subtlety that protects the artistic and monumental heritage of the historic building on Via Tomacelli. The same care and attention were devoted by our team and Pick-Up to the large room at the San Lorenzo in Lucina headquarters, which features large monumental mirrors.
Thanks to the design care we were able to guarantee through numerous site inspections and the great professionalism of the Pick-Up team, the result was the creation of innovative and high-performance solutions that protected every detail of the historic buildings.
AGM’s engineering division handled, during the pre-sales phase, the collection of requirements expressed by the client and the drafting of the most suitable proposal, staying within the available budget and corporate standards for collaboration technologies. The drawings of the executive project provided to Pick-Up enabled their integration team to find the most appropriate installation solutions for the particular environment.
